Why we brief in Sarajevo and shoot anywhere

Clients sometimes assume a production studio has to sit in the city where the campaign runs. After more than twenty years, we've found the opposite: a small, central European base is the fastest, most cost-controlled way to put an advertising-grade crew on a location almost anywhere.

Sarajevo is a two-to-three hour flight from most of Europe, the Gulf is a direct hop, and visa-free movement across the region means a crew can mobilise without weeks of paperwork. The result is simple — you brief us once, and we handle getting the right people and the right kit to the right place.

The logistics that actually matter

Glamour isn't what makes a location shoot work. These are:

  • Battery-powered lighting. Profoto on batteries means we're not tied to mains power or a generator truck — a rooftop, a desert, a factory floor are all viable.
  • One crew, multiple disciplines. Stills and motion from the same shoot day, the same direction, the same set. You don't pay to mobilise twice.
  • A regional fixer network. Permits, talent, transport and local liaison are arranged before we land, not improvised on the day.
  • Carry-on-grade kit discipline. Knowing what flies, what ships and what rents locally keeps a production light and on budget.

Why a single base beats a local crew per market

A consistent team carries your visual language across every market. The campaign you shoot in the Gulf matches the one you shoot in the Balkans because the same eyes, the same lighting approach and the same post pipeline produced both. For a brand running across regions, that consistency is the whole point — and it's almost impossible to get from a different local crew in each city.

What this means for your budget

Centralising production removes the most expensive line items: duplicated mobilisation, re-briefing, and the risk premium of an unknown crew. You're paying for shoot days and deliverables, not for re-explaining the brand every time you cross a border.

What we bring on every trip

The logistics question clients ask most often is: "What if we need something we didn't plan for?" The answer is that a mobile production with batteries, carry-on-rated kit and a fixer network already on the ground can adapt without a second mobilisation. A permit problem, a weather change, a new location added to the list — these are day-of decisions, not week-long delays.

The Profoto battery system means we are not looking for a power socket on a rooftop or a beach. The carry-on kit discipline means we are through the airport without checked-cargo delays. The regional fixer network means the location, the transport and the permissions are already arranged before we land. What looks like spontaneity from the outside is just preparation.

The brief travels with the crew

The other thing a central team carries is institutional memory of the campaign. When the same eyes that shot the first market arrive in the second, the brief doesn't need to be explained again. The look, the lighting standard, the direction cues, the post pipeline — all of it is in the crew's heads already. That continuity is what gives a multi-market campaign its visual coherence, and it is genuinely difficult to replicate with a different local crew in each city.
